A historical Victorian building on Eastbourne seafront is undergoing a £500,000 transformation to become a brand new three star hotel. Shore View Hotel, on the site of the former Travelodge opposite the pier, is run by thenhospitality.
thenhospitality is the UK’s fastest growing hotel management company and looks after a number of hotels across the country including Pelham House in Lewes.
Paul Nason, Regional Manager of thenhospitality, said:
“We’re really excited to add the Shore View to our portfolio of properties. It’s a unique hotel with so much character and you really couldn’t ask for a better location with the beach just a few yards from the foyer!
“There have been several challenges in bringing the hotel up to our desired standard but I’m confident that we’re on schedule and have already made some vast improvements.”
The refurbishment is due for completion in late July. There will be a total of 90 bedrooms to accommodate guests along with 20 family rooms, which is above the average number for a hotel in Eastbourne.
The new management company is keen to keep the historic charm of the building and the interior is being carefully redecorated to provide guests with all the facilities they need.
Andy Bruce, General Manager of the Shore View Hotel, said:
“We’ve retained the key features of the building but everything else is fresh and modern. We believe a clean and stylish look is the main thing people want alongside comfort.”
All rooms will be re-carpeted, re-decorated and fitted with brand new furniture. Selected one-off features are also being installed to add character and each room has a full range of facilities including a 32in. flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi.
